                           Retirement or disability

 

                   Where to start this is fairly new to me, I became officially disabled in 2020. So, I finally had to use my disability benefit to survive. I have been through the process of the COLA, which is so outdated and can be manipulated easily by the third quarter of every year, first two quarters of the economy can have big inflation then at the end of the third quarter it subsides and that is how they determine our increase for the following year.

     This really needs to be updated. Then I will try to get to other things as I learn and try and find more information. Next is the whole system hasn’t been keeping up with the times. It’s been since the 1980’s since anything was done to this program. Where national defense has grown outrageously, and other programs also. Now this is crazy and no one in congress is addressing this so what I am asking if some people would come up with some way to get this as a movement, we really don’t have any voice on this matter, and this is where it gets funny if you are a US citizen you will be using this sooner or later. Plus, we all pay into it our whole working life. I bring up when I can to some who should be listening about this, and I guess it looks like it’s a fight that no one wants to even try. This is where I and others should start causing a ruckus since we don’t have a union or even an association. 

    

  To be fair, like I have mentioned to others we aren’t asking for lottery winning payments, but we all should get enough to take care of our basic needs, food, shelter, medicine, heat and well you know the drill. I personally don’t have a clue on how to start this, I think we need younger ones pushing this and of course whoever can also help. I personally would definitely would join a political association that really represented the recipients of Social Security since we are citizens also, We need a stronger voice so if some young people and others getting close to retirement age or on disability would know how to start an association or even better some kind of an union or even a political party.
